BIO:
Quixotic but indefatigable Brooklyn-based Francophone rockers, Les Sans Culottes, variously dubbed "the seven-headed beast from the hard-scrabble streets of Menilmontant," "those frilly Parisian underthings," and "the Francophonic tsunami," release their 7th recording, 'Pataphysical Graffiti their new album for Vibratone Records. Inspired equally by Led Zeppelin's 2-disc masterpiece and the French science of 'pataphysics, Pataphysical Graffiti contains 16 songs (one more than Physical Graffiti and in French!) and establishes French as not just the language of l'amour (hot), cuisine (haute), couture (haute) but finally, ROCK (French) -- even if French band Phoenix refuses to sing in it.

VIDEO: LIVE at South Paw, Brooklyn, NY for Coney Island Benefit 2009 PRESS: "New York City's number one fake French band, Brooklyn's Les Sans Culottes have taken the whole faux-French-band thing pretty far--the group's live shows are superenergetic, fake-multicultural events." - Time Out
"The Brooklyn ensemble Les Sans Culottes play raunchy faux-French rock
and
roll that's both a sendup of and a tribute to the dark tunes of
late-period
Serge Gainsbourg and punchy ye-ye girl pop."
"...fuzz-toned guitars, electric organ, cooing female voices and
know-it-all
male growls." |
